Our Work / Feasibility study

Deeside Leisure Centre.

A Cadwyn Clwyd-funded feasibility study through which Nysa adapted and developed its assessment process and connected visitor resources around a real leisure environment.

The project brought together the complete Nysa Sensory 360 service: assessment, visitor guide, interactive sensory map and 360° virtual tour.

The context

A complex visitor journey in a real leisure environment.

Deeside Leisure Centre gave Nysa an opportunity to apply and refine its approach across arrival, navigation, facilities and the sensory conditions visitors may experience throughout a large venue.

The feasibility study focused on understanding the environment and translating that evidence into practical information visitors could use before and during a visit.

The work brought together:

  • review of the visitor journey and sensory environment
  • structured observation and visual documentation
  • practical sensory and accessibility information
  • three connected visitor-facing resources

The resources

Three ways for visitors to prepare.

Each resource uses the same assessment evidence while supporting a different part of visitor preparation: understanding, navigating and previewing the venue.

What the study enabled

Developing one connected Nysa workflow.

Working across the leisure centre helped Nysa refine how assessment evidence flows into practical recommendations and consistent visitor-facing information.

From one evidence base

The guide, map and tour are designed to work together rather than repeat disconnected information, giving visitors complementary ways to prepare.
